Ballet 1
This class will focus on classical techniques of the Vaganova method through preparatory movement exercises and choreographic combinations at the barre, in center, and across the floor. Competition dancers will learn vocabulary, proper body alignment, precision and execution of ballet positions and movements, strength and stability, turnout, and musicality. Dancers will further utilize their technique to enhance their artistry and performance skills, and they will also have the opportunity for self-expression to move creatively.
Ballet 2 & 3
Integrating a fusion between the Vaganova method and a contemporary ballet discipline, competition dancers will develop artistry and athleticism that creates a deeper understanding on how to dance with their whole bodies, in the studio and onstage. Incorporating progressive exercises and choreographic combinations at the barre, in center, and across the floor, this class will focus on technical and challenging movement with an emphasis on proper body alignment, balance, strength and stability, turnout, fluidity, precision and execution of movement, musicality, dynamic movement qualities, and exploring greatest range of motion. In addition, students will further utilize their technique to enhance their performance skills, express their own unique identities and individualities through movement, and push themselves beyond their boundaries outside of the classical ballet world.
Tap
Tap dance is a style of dance in which rhythmic sounds are produced by moving the feet. Shoes are worn with metal taps on the bottom, which produce the distinctive tap sound against the floor.
Jazz/Lyrical Combo
Half hour of Jazz and half hour of Lyrical.
Jazz: Style of dance that uses upbeat music and incorporates technical skills such as leaps, turns, etc.
Lyrical: Lyrical dance is a dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and modern dance. Movement plays on the lyrics of a song.
Hip Hop
Hip hop dance is a range of street dance styles primarily performed to hip hop music or that have evolved as part of hip hop culture.
Pom
Pom incorporates shape hard hitting movements while creating pictures in choreography.
Musical Theater
Musical theater is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. The story and emotional content of a musical – humor, pathos, love, anger – are communicated through words, music, movement and technical aspects of the entertainment together.
Acro
BEGINNING ACROBATICS
Beginning and young Acro students begin learning safety, flexibility, strength, and proper body alignment while performing skills. A large portion of class is focused on flexibility of the back and legs while also strengthening the core. Skills include splits, leg holds, forward rolls, backwards rolls, cartwheels, handstands, chin stands, tripods, headstands and will begin learning backbends, walk overs, and limbers with a spot.

INTERMEDIATE ACROBATICS
Intermediate Acro students continue building upon beginning acrobatic skills and strengths to become more advanced. The focus on strength in the students arms, back, legs, and core remain very important while we begin to add a focus on power. Skills include front and back walkovers, front and back handsprings, side aerials, chin stands, handstand rolls and leg movement while in a handstand and headstand, tik tok walkovers, valdez walkovers, headsprings, kip ups, and partnering skills and lifts.
